This piece was created as an entry for CGtalk's Journey Begins competition. It was painted in PS and the children based on a series of ref photos I took for the project. The ambition of the piece was to create a wonderfully realistic scene in the vein of Peter Pan or Chronicles of Narnia.

The Red Shallows Journey Picture
Inspired by a fantasy project me and a couple of friends are having fun with. A band of travellers are walking through the Red Shallows; a very shallow semi-marshland where a poisonous red algae-like substance grows. Very dangerous place indeed!

The Journey Begins Picture
This is the central artwork of the Wormworld Saga. It was painted in 2006 for a CG Challange an won the second price. Today it is my most popular digital painting and serves me as a vision statement for my online graphic novel.
